All species were drawn life size which accounts for the contorted poses of the larger birds as Audubon strove to fit them within the page size. Smaller species were usually placed on branches with berries, fruit, and flowers. He used several birds in a drawing to present all views of anatomy and wings. Larger birds were often placed in their ground habitat or perching on stumps. At times, as with woodpeckers, he combined several species on one page to offer contrasting features. He frequently depicted the birds' nests and eggs, and occasionally natural predators, such as snakes. He usually illustrated male and female variations, and sometimes juveniles. In later drawings, Audubon used assistants to render the habitat for him. Going beyond faithful renderings of anatomy, Audubon employed carefully constructed composition, drama, and slightly exaggerated poses to achieve artistic as well as scientific effects.

Pesulap dengan nama asli Enrich Weiss ini paling dikenal melalui trik-trik meloloskan dirinya, antara lain melepaskan diri dari ikatan tali,borgol, rantai, dan yang paling terkenal: trik Chinese water torture, di mana Houdini yang tubuhnya digantung terbalik berhasil meloloskan diri dari lemari kaca yang diisi penuh dengan air.
Houdini mulai menjadi pesulap pada tahun 1981. Awalnya ia hanya berkutat pada sulap-sulap kartu, namun kariernya menanjak sejak memfokuskan diri pada aksi-aksi meloloskan diri. Pertunjukan terakhir Houdini berlangsung pada24 oktober 1926. Sehari kemudian ia masuk rumah sakit dan meninggal dunia akibat peritonitis di bagian umbai cacing pada 31 Oktober 1926.
Harry Houdini lahir sebagai Erik Weisz (ia kemudian mengeja nama kelahirannya sebagai Ehrich Weiss) di Budapest, Hungaria, pada 24 Maret 1874 [1] Sejak 1907 di Namun, Houdini akan mengklaim dalam wawancara telah lahir di Appleton., Wisconsin, pada tanggal 6 April 1874.
