Audubon developed his own methods for drawing birds. First, he killed them using fine shot. He then used wires to prop them into a natural position, unlike the common method of many ornithologists, who prepared and stuffed the specimens into a rigid pose. When working on a major specimen like an eagle, he would spend up to four 15-hour days, preparing, studying, and drawing it.[61] His paintings of birds are set true-to-life in their natural habitat. In later drawings, Audubon used assistants to render the habitat for him. Pesulap dengan nama asli Enrich Weiss ini paling dikenal melalui trik-trik meloloskan dirinya, antara lain melepaskan diri dari ikatan tali,borgol, rantai, dan yang paling terkenal: trik Chinese water torture, di mana Houdini yang tubuhnya digantung terbalik berhasil meloloskan diri dari lemari kaca yang diisi penuh dengan air.
Houdini mulai menjadi pesulap pada tahun 1981. Awalnya ia hanya berkutat pada sulap-sulap kartu, namun kariernya menanjak sejak memfokuskan diri pada aksi-aksi meloloskan diri. Pertunjukan terakhir Houdini berlangsung pada24 oktober 1926. Sehari kemudian ia masuk rumah sakit dan meninggal dunia akibat peritonitis di bagian umbai cacing pada 31 Oktober 1926.
Harry Houdini lahir sebagai Erik Weisz (ia kemudian mengeja nama kelahirannya sebagai Ehrich Weiss) di Budapest, Hungaria, pada 24 Maret 1874 [1] Sejak 1907 di Namun, Houdini akan mengklaim dalam wawancara telah lahir di Appleton., Wisconsin, pada tanggal 6 April 1874.
Orangtuanya Rabbi Mayer Samuel Weiss (1829-1892) dan istrinya, Cecep (née Steiner; 1841-1913). Houdini adalah salah satu dari tujuh anak: M. Herman (1863-1885); Nathan J. (1870-1927); Gottfried William (1872-1925); Theodore "Theo" (1876-1945); [2] Leopold D. ( 1879-1962), dan Gladys Carrie (lahir tahun 1882-unknown kematian).
Weiss datang ke Amerika Serikat pada tanggal 3 Juli 1878, berlayar di Fresia SS dengan ibunya (yang sedang hamil) dan empat saudara [3] Keluarga berubah. Ejaan Hungaria nama Jerman mereka ke Weiss (ejaan Jerman) dan ejaan nama anak mereka ke dalam Ehrich. Teman-teman memanggilnya "Ehrie" atau "Harry".
Mereka pertama kali tinggal di Appleton, Wisconsin, di mana ayahnya menjabat sebagai Rabbi dari Kongregasi Yahudi Reformasi Sion. Menurut sensus tahun 1880, keluarga tinggal di Appleton Street. [4] Pada tanggal 6 Juni 1882, Rabi Weiss menjadi warga negara Amerika. Kehilangan masa jabatannya di Sion pada tahun 1887, Rabi Weiss pindah dengan Ehrich ke New York City.
